The goal is to package 300,000+ fortified meals that will be distributed throughout Western North Carolina to families in need by MANNA FoodBank.

Seed Programs International (SPI) is a humanitarian organization which works through other humanitarian groups—worldwide—to provide vegetable seed to impoverished communities in developing countries enabling them to grow some of their own food. The organization not only provides the seed, but gives expertise and hands-on assistance on how to successfully plant and harvest. This is an effort to contribute to a long term cure for global hunger. About fifteen percent of the RAH funds raised will go toward distributing seeds internationally through SPI.

With the assistance of community partners MANNA FoodBank, Reuter Family YMCA and Seed Programs International, Rotary Clubs of Western North Carolina seek to address the increasingly critical need for food among people in WNC and overseas. The meal packaging event is an effort to help locally and globally and the partners have set a $65,000 fundraising goal to make this happen.
