Are You Smarter Than An Elementary Student?
Fundraising Event on April 25 to Benefit Local Children’s Nonprofit

What nation has the longest border with the U.S.? How many sides does a trapezoid have? Who was the first president to be impeached? If you can answer these questions, then you just might be smarter than an elementary student.

What:
You can test your general knowledge, impress your friends, family and co-workers, and contribute to a local non-profit at the second annual Children First/Communities In Schools “Are You Smarter Than an Elementary Student?” fundraising event, sponsored by Mission Healthcare Foundation.

When:
Thursday, April 25 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the A-B Tech Ferguson Auditorium.

Who:
Three members per team, plus a “celebrity” CF/CIS Learning Center student will test their mental acuity on geography, math, history, and more. The more people who come out to support a team, the more “cheats” a team is awarded.
For the second year, the MC for the event is Gordon Grant, principal of Hall Fletcher Elementary.
Current sponsors include: Mission Hospital Foundation; HomeTrust Bank; Asheville Savings Bank; AT&T; and PlumDog Financial.

Why:
All of the proceeds will benefit Children First/ Communities In Schools – a nonprofit that serves economically disadvantaged children and their families with after school learning centers, a food pantry, emergency financial assistance, case management, and advocacy. You can learn more about the organization and the event at www.childrenfirstbc.org.

How:
Tickets to attend the event are $5; registration for a team of 3 is $300. For more information about registering a team, attending the event, or becoming a sponsor visit www.childrenfirstbc.org or contact Adrienne Ammerman at AdrienneA@childrenfirstbc.org or 828-259-9717.
