Park Ridge Health invites community to blood drive on May 15

Hendersonville, N.C. (April 23, 2013) – Park Ridge Health, in partnership with The Blood Connection, will host a blood drive on Wednesday, May 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on mobile units near the Emergency Department entrance. All employees and community members in good health are invited to give as long as they are at least 17, weigh at least 110 pounds and haven’t donated blood for 56 days. Everyone who gives will receive a free t-shirt and two movie tickets! The Blood Connection encourages donors to drink plenty of water and eat a hearty meal before donating blood.

Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling 855.PRH.LIFE (855.774.5433).

Blood Donation Facts: According to The Blood Connection, more than 500 people need to donate every day to meet the daily needs of hospitals in our region and be prepared for emergencies. Blood is good for only 42 days, so donors are needed every day to ensure a stable blood supply.
