If we want a world for future inhabitants, we must work in the interests of our progeny and stop pandering to the short-term interests of the mega-corporate power industry.
Since 2007, over 21,000 clean-energy jobs have been created in North Carolina. More than $1.4 billion has been invested in solar farms and other renewable projects in the state.
Senate Bill 365 and House Bill 298 would harm North Carolina’s growing renewable-energy industry.
Recently, a Senate committee chair declared that the repeal bill (SB 365) passed, when in fact more bipartisan senators voted against it than for it.
Planning to eliminate good clean-energy jobs in the state would be shooting ourselves in the foot, as the clean-energy industry is one of the most successful aspects of our economy. This modest program has been a real job creator in North Carolina. We must have more conservation of energy and renewable sources of energy.
