Press release

Creative Mountain Food Tours will be celebrating its one year anniversary this month and couldn’t be more pleased with the success thus far. Over 800 tour guests from 28 states, Canada and the UK have been delighted to experience Black Mountains’ southern charm and hospitality. Participating restaurants and shops have loved entertaining the guests and are looking forward to repeat visits from “day trippers” who participated in the tours from over 70 cities in NC!

Owners Sandi and Len Eskew are celebrating the company’s anniversary by expanding the offerings in Black Mountain to include a “Round the World” tour.

Currently there are three tour theme options available: the Sweet Tooth Dessert Tour, the Ultimate Foodie Tour and the Pub and Grub Crawl. The tours are conducted on weekend afternoons and incorporate small plate tastings in at least five restaurants in walking distance of one another. All tour stops include meet and greets with the chefs and owners, who provide information about themselves, the cuisine and fun trivia about their historical and architectural surroundings.

The Round the World Tour will provide guests with yet another option to experience a taste of Black Mountain with an International flair. Beginning June 27, guests can walk and visit a variety of internationally inspired shops and restaurants. This excursion will include tastings with such partners as Europa, a European gift shop; Berliner Kindl, one of the oldest and best German restaurants in Western NC; Dobra Tea, a Japanese inspired tea house; FRESH, a local Italian favorite; Visions of Creation, a unique shop with Scottish and Columbian owners; and La Guingette, serving sweet and savory crepes, tamales and empanadas.
