The Knights of Allentown Productions brings Twelfth Night to Toy Boat in March
A new theatre company has sprung up with the mission of bringing Shakespeare to venues around Asheville. The Knights of Allentown Productions, formed by co-producers Ken Knight and Bonnie Allen, is composed mostly of members of the Montford Park Players local theatre group. Their first production will be Shakespeare’s winter comedy, Twelfth Night, at the Toy Boat Community Arts Space.
Toy Boat is an open community art space where groups may teach or learn circus arts, host parties, or rent the stage for events or performances. The arrangement makes for an intimate but fun space, where the party atmosphere of Twelfth Night can really come to life. Viewers can expect drunken frivolity, stilt walking clowns, cross-dressing women, twins, love and war, and a happy ending for all.
Twelfth Night runs March 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, and 14th at 7:30 PM at Toy Boat Community Arts Space, 101 Fairview Road, Asheville NC. Tickets are $10 and available at the door.
