Press release from Larry Dodson’s campaign:

County Commissioner and small business owner Ellen Frost endorsed captain of the Asheville Fire Department, Larry Dodson, for County Commissioner District 2 on Saturday evening.

“I am proud to endorse Larry Dodson for County Commissioner in District 2,” Frost said. “I know a little bit about close elections, and Larry has worked tirelessly for Democrats. I know that Larry was invaluable in keeping our commission with a Democratic majority. He understands the needs and challenges of our citizens, and this is what motivates him. Larry has had a stellar career in the fire department and has dealt with challenges that most of us will never encounter. He’s the real deal.”

Ellen Frost won a tight race for her County Commissioner seat by a mere 18 votes in against Republican Christina Merrill in 2012, after Merrill unsuccessfully challenged the votes of Warren Wilson College students in court.

County Commission is one of many important races on the primary ballot.
Early voting for the North Carolina primary is from March 3rd through the 12th. Election Day is March 15.
