Ice cream eating contest: If you pride yourself on the ability to inhale a pint of chocolate chip mint in seconds flat, you may want to put your money where your mouth is and register for the Mountain State Fair ice cream eating contest on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Sign-ups happens the day of the competition, so bring your sweet tooth and get ready for a brain freeze.
Fair food: It’s true. Everything tastes better fried and on a stick when you’re at the Mountain State Fair. This year, choices will abound; there will be more than 75 food stands operating throughout the fairgrounds. How about fried pineapple on a stick? Or deep-fried Milky Way bars, fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or fried pickles — all on a stick, of course. Are you ready to give it a try? Go for it.
