A. was born into a family of professional musicians in Allahabad, India. Her uncle, Prof. Satish Chandra, an artist from the Pt. Ravi Shankar’s tradition, was her first teacher. Under the traditional tutelage of her father Girish Chandra Srivastava and uncle, she has mastered the instrument and has achieved highest academic honours in music during her student years. Her tutelage is in the same line of musical style as Ravi Shankar and Nikhil Banergee.
Reshma began her life long musical career on the sitar when she was six years old. At eight, she gave her first public performance and began broadcasting on the radio even earlier. An “A” grade artist, her childhood performances are still being played on the radio in India today. Herconcert tours in the past have included many cities in India, and many live radio concerts. This music, is not only Indian, it is universally appealing. Concert tours in Europe have included Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Greece, Israel and Cyprus.
