“We loved Asheville.”
“Good restaurants. Gay-friendly (although we aren’t gay). Lots of arts, theatre companies, art galleries, with an eclectic, fun, and lively River Arts District.”
“An all-around wonderful small city. Great mountain scenery and friendly people. Always a smile from those you meet.”
Yep if you have cash and are not disabled..poor or marginalized by the misogyny and racism here. It’s a friendly place..what gets me about Casheville is an inability to confront what we lack.
An old rich Floridian once told me; ” The thing about Asheville is; nobody wants to talk to you unless you have money.”
I couldn’t agree more! The sad result of major income equality in this city!
Charleston #1 for sure! They have the service industry down to a science… Never been to an establishment there without being treated like a priority….. Which is way more than I can say about Asheville…. 5 out of 10 times one cannot ignore the typical pretentious bartender who tries (just a little too hard) to insinuate you’re interrupting their day…
