Press release:
Asheville Music School Receives Grant from Wells Fargo
Asheville Music School Executive Director Charlotte Sommers is pleased to announce a $2,000 grant from Wells Fargo to support the AMS scholarship program. “Providing scholarship assistance to families unable to afford music lessons is a key part of our mission to make music education accessible to all,” said Sommers. Through the Paul Thorpe Music Education Fund, AMS has granted more than $30,000 in scholarship funds since 2012.
“We are pleased to fund these scholarships at the Asheville Music School,” said Delise Talley, area president for Wells Fargo. “It helps demonstrate Wells Fargo’s ongoing commitment to supporting arts and culture in western North Carolina. Our goal is to help build strong and vibrant communities, improve the quality of life and make a positive difference.”
Individual donations for scholarships are always welcome and needed, as the rising number of applications we receive each year exceeds our scholarship budget.
