More than 1,000 WNC residents are expected to rally at Lake Junaluska to spread the message that people can and do recover from addiction, mental illness and other life challenges. The 2nd Annual Western Regional Recovery Rally is a free event that includes a lakeside march, children’s activities and Recovery Champion/Ally of the Year awards. Scheduled speakers include state Sen. Jim Davis of Franklin, Asheville artist Douglas Lail and Jeff Fink, founder of Go Fetch Wellness, an animal-assisted therapy business.
The event includes multiple opportunities for video and still photography, as well as interviews with individuals willing to speak publicly about their own recovery journeys.

The event is sponsored by a partnership among the group Communities Rallying for Recovery, people in recovery and their family members, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, local government agencies and recovery allies in law enforcement. Individuals living throughout western North Carolina are expected to attend. Sponsor 99.9 KISS Country will broadcast live from the rally with morning show host Eddie Foxx.
