N.C. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler and N.C. Mountain State Fair Manager Matt Buchanan will join state and local dignitaries in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the 2016 N.C. Mountain State Fair.

Commissioner Troxler will be joined by Commerce Secretary John Skvarla, members of the N.C. General Assembly, as well as representatives from the N.C. Board of Agriculture and the N.C. FFA.

The 2016 N.C. Mountain State Fair runs Sept. 9-18 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher.
On Friday, students in grades K-12 receive free gate admission until 6 p.m., and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., visitors can purchase a combination admission and unlimited ride ticket for $25.
