Press release from National Alliance on Mental Illness affiliate NAMI Four Seasons:
The Henderson and Polk Counties affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI Four Seasons, today announced that it is partnering with the Henderson County Public Library on its activities around May Mental Health Month.
NAMI is sponsoring the library’s May 12 showing of a 1993 Johnny Depp film in which he plays Gilbert Grape, a loner who cares for his dysfunctional family, including a challenged brother (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and their agoraphobic mother who has not left the house in seven years.
NAMI Four Seasons president, Lisa Wilt, will be on hand to share information and answer questions about NAMI’s support for individuals and families impacted by mental illness.
The screening will take place at 2:00 in the library’s Kaplan Auditorium. There is no charge and all are invited to attend.
