Are you looking for ways to age successfully and maintain your quality of life? If so, you are invited to register for the 16th annual Successful Aging Conference hosted by the Council on Aging of Buncombe County (COAbc). The major sponsor of the event is Roberts & Stevens, Attorneys At Law.
The Successful Aging Conference will be held on June 14, 2018 at the Reuter Center (home of OLLI) at UNC Asheville from 9a.m. to 3:30p.m. Registration and conference details can be found at www.COAbc.org/successful-aging. The conference will include a keynote speaker, a full slate of classes in four different tracks (movement, health & wellness, financial, and active aging), a box lunch and an awards presentation. Each session will provide knowledge and resources to help answer your questions about aging successfully. Experts from multiple local agencies will have information available on topics such as long term care insurance, financial management, legal services, and other healthcare and housing options. The cost is $25 per person and advance registration is required by June 4.
If you would like to nominate an exceptional older adult or an advocate for older adults to receive an award during the annual awards ceremony, please contact COAbc or visit the website for a nomination form. The nomination categories are: Caregiver of the Year, Community Member Award and Aging Services Professional Award. Awards nominations are due by May 15, 2018.
