Craft City workshops and tours continue at Center for Craft, July 6 and 15 and Aug. 3

Press release from the Center for Craft:

The Center for Craft has launched its second season of Craft City, with monthly food and art tours April through December as well as pop-up craft workshops led by local makers throughout the summer. Craft City celebrates all things craft in Asheville – including the local, entrepreneurial, small-batch, high-quality, and handmade values that inspires our unique and authentic civic pride and culture.

“Last summer, our Craft City Workshops were embraced by Asheville locals and tourists alike, and we are thrilled to host our second season of workshops. What better way to learn about craft than with hands-on activities delivered by talented, local makers?” said Center for Craft curator Marilyn Zapf.

Foothills Local Meats will be on-site with hotdogs (get yours fully loaded!), alongside offerings from Buchi Kombucha, Ginger’s Revenge ginger beer, and a selection of local craft beer.

Can’t make it to the Center’s on-site events? Craft City is hitting the road! Find workshops at the bi-annual Big Crafty event (July 15).

Projects vary, but workshops are best suited for participants age 12+. Collaborative community projects will be on-site, free and suitable for all ages! Craft City Workshops are open to the public.

Kits costs $12 and include all materials needed to complete one craft. Purchasing a $12 kit also includes one fully loaded hotdog from Foothills Local Meats hotdog stand. $5 regular admission (kit not included) includes one fully loaded hotdog.

Craft City Workshops are sponsored in part by Buchi Kombucha and Asheville Made.

The Center for Craft is supported in part by a grant from the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
