Hendersonville, N.C. (September 13, 2018) – Park Ridge Health has activated its Emergency Response Protocol in preparation for the anticipated impact of Hurricane Florence on Western North Carolina and communities to the east and south of our region.
This protocol involves preparations at its hospital and more than 35 clinical locations across Western North Carolina to ensure the storm does not interrupt Park Ridge Health’s ability to provide exceptional care and protect patients, their families, physicians and care teams during the storm and through any aftermath it may cause.
“With the storm approaching, I want to reassure the people across our region that Park Ridge Health is taking all the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our patients and our care teams, who are will be here without interruption,” said Jimm Bunch, Park Ridge Health President & CEO.
The response plan includes having extra staff available to meet the care needs for the expected higher patient volumes, and increased supplies to ensure continued care for patients and support staff. Park Ridge Health has tested and placed its backup power sources on standby in the event of a power loss.
Park Ridge Health is working with Emergency Management teams on county and state levels for regular updates on storm developments, the anticipated impact and desired preparation and response to community emergency needs. This collaboration includes working with the North Carolina Healthcare Association to provide patient care for hospitals in the eastern counties that may need to evacuate.
For the community, Park Ridge Health wants to assure you its Emergency Department and hospital are open and will remain operational to meet your care needs, as well as the needs of people who are coming to our region to escape the impact of the storm on the coastal and central areas of the state.
