Asheville Downtown Association’s Pritchard Park summer series launches

Press release from the Asheville Downtown Association: 

Asheville Downtown Association’s Pritchard Park Summer Series brings free, family friendly programming to Pritchard Park several nights per week throughout the warm season. All events are open to the public and suitable for all ages. Please note, shows are weather dependent, and lineups are subject to change slightly.

Pritchard Park Summer Series is produced in partnership with the City of Asheville as well as host organizations like Asheville Hoops and LEAF Community Arts. Thanks to McGuire Wood & Bissette Law Firm for their sponsorship of these events!

The 2019 lineup is as follows:

Hoop Jam (Tuesdays from June 4 – Aug. 6, from 5:30-7:30pm): Bring your own hoop or borrow one of ours! Now celebrating 12 years, Hoop Jam is hosted by Asheville Hoops and features music and hooping for everybody

Cultural Arts and Sciencein Pritchard Park (Wednesdays, June 5 – Aug. 7 from 6-7 pm): 
LEAF Community Arts and Asheville Museum of Science bring fun, family friendly programs to the park:
June 5 Hip Hop Jam (Nex Millen)
June 12 AMOS – Hands on Science
June 19- AMOS- Hands on Science
June 26 West African Drumming ( Adama Demble)
July 3 Hip Hop Jam (Nex Millen)
July 10 West African Drumming (Adama Demble)
July 17 AMOS- Hands on Science
July 31 Hip hop Jam ( Nex Millen)
August 7 West African drumming (Adama Demble)

Drum Circle (Fridays until Nov. 22, 6-9:50pm): Since 2001, the beats and rhythms of the Asheville Drum Circle have pulled drummers, dancers and spectators into Pritchard Park for communal music enjoyment. Attendees are welcome to bring along their own drums to join in the fun.
