St. Anthony the Great hosts Frederica Matthewes-Green on July 14

Press release from St. Anthony the Great Eastern Orthodox Church:

Renowned Christian author and speaker Frederica Matthewes-Green will speak in the Fellowship Hall of Mills River Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 14, at 6:00 p.m

Ms. Matthewes-Green will talk on topics related to the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church, its beliefs and practices.  A convert from the Episcopal Church, she writes and speaks about Orthodoxy with a folksy and humorous style that has been compared to Garrison Keillor and the late Erma Bombeck. 

Some of the books authored by Matthewes-Green include Welcome to the Orthodox Church:  An Introduction to Eastern Christianity, The Jesus Prayer:  The Ancient Desert Prayer that Tunes the Heart to God and Mary as the Early Christians Knew Her. 

The public is invited to this free event at 6 p.m. at Mills River Presbyterian Church, located at 10 Presbyterian Church Road in Mills River.
