Health department shares information about romaine lettuce recall

Update from NCDHHS – DPH: Romaine Lettuce Recall

Over the weekend, there was an expanded recall of romaine lettuce due to e. coli contamination and illnesses in several states Update from NC DPH: Romaine Lettuce Recall nationwide. Here is the release from CDC:

It is important to note that it is only romaine grown in Salinas, California that has been impacted. Most lettuce now contains information regarding growing region following last year’s outbreaks. Also, North Carolina is not one of the impacted states at this time in terms of illness. There was impacted product distributed in North Carolina. Recalled product was distributed in grocery stores, retail food service, and institutional food service by vendors such as US Food. Dominoes was impacted by some of this recall as well.
