Press release from Waste Pro USA:
Waste Pro will begin delivering waste and recycling roll out carts to customers on Monday, Dec. 16. This effort is going to be very large and challenging; approximately 59,000 new carts are going to be delivered. We have added resources to the Solid Waste department to assist with answering phone calls during this process. Here is some key information about this process:
- Deliveries will occur Monday through Saturdays.
- Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by Friday, Jan. 31.
- Deliveries will be completed by the company Toter with assistance and oversight by Waste Pro. Toter will be primarily using 26-foot Ryder trucks with lift gates for deliveries.
- Customers may begin using their carts as soon as they are delivered.
- Waste Pro carts that are currently in service will be replaced following collection.
- Subscribers who desire to dispose of their personal containers have the following options:
- Drop off at the Buncombe County Transfer Station or Landfill at no charge
- Drop off at Waste Pro’s Arden location at no charge
- Schedule a bulk waste pickup through Waste Pro for $5 (normal bulk pickup is $25). This reduced rate ends Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
- Bear-resistant carts will be delivered by Waste Pro and will be on a different schedule. When they have this schedule finalized, we will make you aware.
Carts will be delivered in phases, based on the normal service day for customers. This does not mean the carts will necessarily be delivered on their service day, but it determines the time frame during which they should expect to receive their carts. For example, a subscriber whose service day is Tuesday and who lives in the area shaded blue on the “Tuesday” map can expect to receive their cart any time from Friday, Jan. 3, to Monday, Jan. 6. Attached are a series of maps that illustrate the delivery schedule. The delivery dates for each area are listed on the maps and can also be found in the table above. In addition, Waste Pro will be sending out a robo-call to customers prior to their delivery based on the schedule.
