Release: Asheville Chamber to host Virtual Town Halls with Business Support Info

During these extraordinary times, we believe more than ever in Building Community Through Business.  Employers of all sizes, all parts of our region, and every industry in our region are making hard decisions about workforce wellbeing and retention, business continuity and contingency planning for a crisis that is proving unpredictable.  The Asheville Chamber and Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County will be hosting a series of Virtual Town Halls to get timely information to the business community that will help the families of our community endure the Covid-19 crisis, and thrive in the recovery that will follow.

Virtual Town Hall:  Employment Considerations in the COVID19 Crisis

When: Monday, March 23rd at 1 p.m.
What: Virtual Town Hall on Employment Resources to support both the business and the employee.  The panelists will offer urgent guidance and best practices on workplace safety and sanitation for current operations as well as overview the existing and newly introduced services available to best support the employer and the dislocated worker.
Who: Panelists are Nathan Ramsey, Executive Director of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board and Land of Sky Regional Council; Rodney Embler, Executive Director of NCWORKS Asheville; Timothy Love, Emergency Operations Center for Buncombe County; and Jackie Grant, Partner with Roberts and Stevens

Virtual Town Hall:  Business Financial Resources in the COVID19 Crisis

When: Tuesday, March 24 at 3 p.m.
What: Virtual Town Hall on Business Continuity and Lending opportunities to support both the business and the employee.  The panelists will offer programmatic updates and resources available to businesses during this time of uncertainty.  Corey Atkins, VP of Public Policy, will also give updates on legislation underway at both the Federal and State level.
Who: Panelists are Sandra Dennison, SBTDC; Sharon Oxendine, Western Women’s Business Center; Matt Raker, Mountain Bizworks and Joe Ward, First Bank.
