Update from Asheville Police Department:
UPDATE (May 11, 2020): Sarawila Villatoro-Weir has turned herself in to authorities. She is currently being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
Message from Asheville Police Department:
The Asheville Police Department (APD) is requesting assistance to locate Sarawila Villatoro Weir. Weir has open warrants for assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and inflict serious injury and carrying a concealed handgun. If you encounter Weir, please exercise caution as she is considered armed and dangerous.
Weir is described as a white female, 20 years old, 5’5″, and weighs approximately 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her right arm reading “Money Hungry.”
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on May 9, APD received a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound in Pisgah View Apartments. Upon arrival, officers were notified that the victim, a 21 year old female, was transported to Mission Hospital. The victim sustained one gunshot wound, and is in stable, but critical condition. After Detectives responded and conducted an investigation, Weir was charged for the shooting.
