APD responds to shooting at Walton Street Park

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on June 22 the Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to Walton Street Park in the Southside community of Asheville in regard to a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers arrived and located evidence of a shooting within the park and found out the victim had been transported to Mission Hospital by a private vehicle. The victim, a 30 year old Asheville resident, was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and is currently in critical, yet stable, condition.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section (CIS) began an investigation immediately, and continued to follow leads throughout the night and into today.
