Press release from Frontier Communications:
Mitchell, Yancey, Madison and McDowell Counties, N.C., October 16, 2020 — A required equipment upgrade to improve the availability of broadband services in Frontier Communications’ Mitchell County-Bakersville network facility will be performed between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on October 21. During this time, no phone or internet service will be available and may impact some Frontier customers in Yancey, Madison and McDowell Counties.
This work is anticipated to be completed during the described network maintenance hours (above). Frontier network engineers will work as quickly as possible to complete the network upgrade. Cell service is also likely to be impacted.
Impacts from the network upgrade are expected to be limited to the Mitchell County-Bakersville area. However, services to some customers in Yancey, Madison and McDowell counties could also be affected.
