Leicester Library transitions to door-side pickups, computer reservations only starting Tuesday, Feb. 2

As Buncombe County responds to the COVID-19 public health emergency, staff from every county department is being reassigned to help with the effort. As a result of this staff redistribution, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 2, the Leicester Library will transition from in-person service to door-side pickups only. Reservations for computer time will still be available.

Can I still check out books and other materials?

Books and materials are still available for check out from the Leicester Library. Place holds online using the library catalog link on Buncombe County Public Libraries’ webpage. When you receive an email telling you your items are available, come to the Leicester Library and call (828) 250-6480. A staff member will bring your items out and place them on a designated table for contactless pickup Book drops will remain open for returns anytime.

Computer reservations

Please call the Leicester Library at (828) 250-6480 to make a reservation for library computer time. As always, free internet access is available in the library parking lot. To use the Wi-Fi, look for the LibraryGuest network and use the password readmore. The Wi-Fi is available all day every day, whether the library is open or not. Please observe all Buncombe County social distancing and gathering requirements while using the Wi-Fi. Leicester Library is open for door-side pickups and computer reservations:

·         Tuesday from 2-7 p.m.

·         Wednesday & Thursday from 1-6 p.m.

·         Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Other Buncombe County public libraries are not affected by these changes. As a reminder our digital library is available 24-7. Please visit buncombecounty.org/libraryfor all other current hours, news, and services.
