APD seeks public’s help in locating suspect

Asheville Police Department investigators are asking for the public’s help finding the man who held a knife to a woman’s throat during a robbery.

The woman, who was walking in the area of Ralph Street and French Broad Avenue around 1:04 a.m. on August 20 was approached by a man who pulled out a knife and then held it to her throat while demanding money. After taking the woman’s cash the robber then got into a truck and took off. Thankfully, the woman was not injured during the incident.

The Asheville Police Department is asking for help finding the robber, who has been described as a black male, with a beard, wearing a white shirt and blue shorts, and last seen heading towards the area of Depot Street in a 2020 Ford Ranger truck, N.C. plate number HKT3874.
