Asheville Police to conduct active shooter preparedness training Friday

Press release from the Asheville Police Department:

The Asheville Police Department and Asheville City Schools will conduct a civilian active shooter preparedness session at Hall Fletcher Elementary School for teachers and staff only this Friday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. 

The purpose of this session is to expand on various active shooter scenarios, help promote knowledge, and provide additional critical thinking skills for staff members. There will not be any use of prop guns or any prop weapons during this informative session. All materials have been reviewed and approved by Asheville City Schools and the Asheville Police Department. 

APD and ACS appreciate their partnership to provide a safe environment for students and faculty.
