Public notice from NC Department of Health and Human Services:
Two applicants have filed certificate of need applications with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to develop a PET scanner in response to a need determination in the 2022 State Medical Facilities Plan for Health Service Area I.
The two applicants and proposals are:
• Fletcher Hospital Inc. proposes to develop one fixed PET scanner at AdventHealth Hendersonville in Henderson County. The project is expected to cost $4.3 million and would be completed in June 2025.
• MH Mission Hospital LLLP proposes to develop one fixed PET scanner at the hospital in Asheville in Buncombe County. The project is expected to cost $5.6 million and would be completed in January 2025.A public hearing for these projects will be held April 20 at 9:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Auditorium at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, 340 Victoria Road in Asheville.
Anyone may file written comments concerning this proposal. Comments must be received by the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section no later than 5 p.m. on March 31.
