Graduation exercise night for 21 new AFD members March 23

Press release from thee Asheville Fire Department:

After several months of firefighter training that was both mentally and physically challenging, 21 new recruits of the Asheville Fire Department will graduate and join forces online with other firefighters who currently serve the Asheville community.  March 23rd marks graduation night for these members and it will include numerous scenarios, from small to large scale, simulating a very busy night on shift.  The training will be held at the Buncombe County Emergency Services Training Center and will start around 5:00 p.m.  New recruits will be put to the test of responding to a variety of calls throughout the night from medical, to motor vehicle wrecks, to fire, to high-angle rescues and much more!  Members from AFD, the BC Emergency Services Training Center, and BC EMS will be working throughout the night as well helping to create reality to these scenarios.  With very little rest time, new recruits will constantly respond to calls throughout the night until around 6:00 a.m. Friday morning.  This high energy graduation night will be full of challenges testing the skills and teamwork of these new recruits.
