BCHHS consolidates most services at 40 Coxe in downtown Asheville

News release from Buncombe County:

Buncombe County Health and Human Services Administration, Health Registrar, and Social Work Services, including Child and Family Services and Aging and Adult Services, are now located at 40 Coxe Avenue in Downtown Asheville. With this move, the Buncombe County Health and Human Services (BCHHS) building is now a comprehensive human services center.

This relocation provides a one-stop shop for our community’s public health and human services needs with free, easy-to-access parking at the adjacent deck at 11 Sears Alley. Visitors to 40 Coxe should bring their parking ticket with them to their appointment for parking validation in the Sears Alley parking deck.

The Family Justice Center will remain at 35 Woodfin Street with no modifications to their service array. No interruptions to services are expected during this move and all other methods of contact will continue to be the same.

The BCHHS building at 40 Coxe, conveniently located across from the bus station on Coxe Avenue, now includes Economic Services, Health Registrar, Public Health, Social Work Services, Veterans Services, and WIC. Visit buncombecounty.org/hhs for a complete list of all the services provided by Health and Human Services.

“I am excited to have the vast majority of our staff and services joined together in one location as we seek to provide our community with a comprehensive array of health and human services,” says Stoney Blevins, Buncombe County Health and Human Services Director.

The Child and Family Services division provides child protective services, family in-home services, and permanency planning.
