Buncombe County Parks and Recreation’s Community Outreach and Recreation Experiences (CORE), an innovative program aimed at providing free and engaging recreational activities that travel to various areas around Buncombe County, is set to begin on June 11. CORE provides residents with exciting opportunities for fun and active play.Aligned with the department’s overarching mission to promote health and wellness through recreational activities, CORE offers a diverse range of games, puzzles, and other recreational options.“Through CORE, we aim to foster a vibrant and connected community by providing high-quality recreational activities throughout Buncombe County,” said Allison Dains, Parks and Recreation Services Director. “CORE allows us to increase the accessibility of these programs by going into communities where we hope to promote physical activity, social interaction, and connection to the outdoors.”CORE aims to expand recreational activities, address barriers to recreation in targeted communities that may or may not have recreational facilities, and enhance community collaborations and connections.“We invite all community members to join us at these exciting events.
