Buncombe County churches to join 1,000 others in week of service for NC communities

News release from the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina:
On Aug. 3-10, churches in Buncombe County will be joining more than 1,100 other churches across North Carolina to serve local communities as part of a statewide emphasis known as “ServeNC.”
The “ServeNC” initiative, facilitated by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and its partnering organization Baptists on Mission, encourages churches to complete service projects within their local neighborhoods.
A sampling of projects in Buncombe County include:
  • Brookstone Church in Weaverville will be serving in nearby elementary schools to prepare for the school year.
  • Reachlife Church in Asheville will be partnering with Reynolds Baptist Church hosting a community event and donation drive, in partnership with the local ministry Transformation Village.
  • Ridgeway Baptist Church in Candler will be completing landscaping projects at Candler Elementary School and visiting nursing homes in Candler and Canton.
