Lamplight AVL Art Remains grant applications are open

Press release from Lamplight AVL:

We are committed to providing immediate and foundational support to help artists recover, rebuild, and thrive in our area. Art Remains, the second phase of our Helene recovery initiative, will offer grants of $10,000 or $20,000 to Asheville area artists, collectives, and organizations that have a broad impact on their communities. These grants will offer foundational, longer term stabilization to “community connectors” that serve as hubs with wide ripple effects.

You are eligible for this grant if:

• You are an artist, collective, or organization living, working, or sharing work publicly in: Asheville, Marshall, Black Mountain, or Swannanoa

• You share your work publicly in our area

• Your work/practice/space has been greatly impacted by Helene

• You have demonstrable community impact: you, your collective, or your organization have ripple effects that go out into the community, and in turn your community relies on you

• Connection to community is central to your existence as an artist

Help Restabilize Our Arts Community

You may have noticed that we are opening grant applications while still fundraising to support this effort. This is not typical, but we are committed to getting money in artist’s hands as quickly as possible to help boost the long haul recovery in front of our community. If you are reading this and you are stable and resourced, particularly if you are outside of WNC, we hope you will support this initiative through a donation.
