Chuck Ragan is best known as the gritty voice behind post-hardcore outfit Hot Water Music. But since 2008, the songwriter has focused on bringing roots-y folk tunes to fans "in an extremely honest and grass-roots fashion" with The Revival Tour. The annual jaunt features a rotating cast of musicians, many of whom were involved in the early-aughts post-punk scene, performing stripped-down tunes together in a spirit of collaboration and openness. "It’s an age-old idea and the way that families and communities have shared music for hundreds of years," Ragan explains on the tour's Facebook. The Revival Tour stops at The Orange Peel on Monday, March 25 with Ragan, indie folkster Rocky Votalato, singer-songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs and The Get Up Kids' Matt Pryor. 8 p.m. $18/$20. theorangepeel.net.
