Asheville rockers Archers of Loaf reunited just about a year ago, but lead singer Eric Bachmann has been carrying on without the Loaf in his own Americana project, Crooked Fingers. That group started in N.C. in the late '90s before moving to Seattle, Atlanta and finally Denver. The band is a platform for Bachmann's powerful voice and eloquent songwriting, but there's also a sweetness and warmth, both from the instrumental melodies and the harmonies of Liz Durrett. Crooked Fingers plays the Grey Eagle on Friday, April 13 in support of Merge labelmates Lambchop. 9 p.m. $12 in advance or $15 day of show. http://www.thegreyeagle.com. Photo by Justin Evans.
