There’s something romantic about a Victorian Christmas. Candlelight and fresh greens are simply magical this time of year. Experience them for yourself at the Smith-McDowell House‘s Carolina Christmas exhibit.
Seven period rooms will be decked out with the museum’s finest gold, silver and glassware. Garlands, ornaments and old-fashioned toys will make the mansion merry. Candlelight tours are available to groups of 12 or more after regular museum hours and reservations are required for the evening tours.
The exhibit runs through Wednesday, Jan. 2 and hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon-4 p.m. The museum is located on the A-B Tech campus, 283 Victoria Road. $10 adults; $6 college students; $5 children ages 8-18. Info: www.wnchistory.org or 253-9231.
