Local indie-rockers Antique Firearms were a last minute addition to the Bele Chere lineup, but a welcome one. They opened the festival today on the Haywood Street Stage. Rich Orris took the three two photos here, of guitarist/vocalist Bradan Dotson, guitarist Parker Dotson and bassist Chandler Brewer (with Galen Dotson on keys in the background).
This is my photo of the full band and, below, Bradan performs with local singer CaroMia Tiller.
The band played mainly from its own catalog (largely culled from their self-titled album). Early in their set, they pulled off a fierce version of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Green River.” A high moment of the set (besides Tiller’s tuneful addition to “Carolina”) was the raspy, atmospheric “Crooked Grin.” Read more about Antique Firearms here.
