If going to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn’t adventure enough, the Cinebarre movie theater at the Biltmore Square Mall says it will add to the fun by showing the movie at midnight Wednesday on its outdoor screen. The movie officially opens on Thursday.
“We’re probably one of the few (theaters) in the country to get permission to show it outside,” Jeff Martens, Cinebarre’s director of operations, said Monday. “I’m excited about it.”
The movie will be shown on Cinebarre’s outside wall, with a roped-off section of the parking lot serving as seating for people with lawn chairs and blankets. Movie-goers will also be able to park and watch from their cars. Tickets cost $9 a person. Cinebarre, known for its menu of beer and pizza, will offer food and drink, but the menu will be limited, Martens said.
The movie is the fourth installment in the Indiana Jones film franchise, coming more than 25 years since director Steven Spielberg and co-creater/producer George Lucas teamed up with actor Harrison Ford for the 1981 adventure classic Raiders of the Lost Ark.
