If you’re not going to be either in the Orange Peel or milling around outside the Orange Peel tonight, here’s a suggestion: Check out The Everybodyfields at the Grey Eagle.
Based in Johnson City, Tenn., the alt-country band plays a sweetly swingy brand of original music with spare instrumentation, achingly lovely harmonies and intellectual lyrics. Fronted by Sam Quinn and Jill Andrews, The Everybodyfields come off as both of a time long past and utterly familiar. Great sounds for winding down with a cold, lemon-laced wheat beer after a long week. Just a thought.
Asheville country-roots quartet Brian McGee & the Hollow Speed (with Darin Gentry, David Hughes and Cary Fridley) opens.
Show starts at 9 p.m., $8 at the door. 232-5800 for info.
