Did you miss The War on Drugs at the Grey Eagle last week? The Dylan-esque, spaced-out, Petty-driven sounds of the new album, Slave Ambient, were recorded in part at Asheville’s own Echo Mountain Recording Studio, and the album is charting like crazy (because it rules!). I have a biased opinion, of course, because I lent keys to several tracks on the effort, but the sentiment has become increasingly common. The folks at Harvest Records bring the Philly-based quartet to the mountains as often as possible, so be sure to catch The War On Drugs next time around. In the meantime, check out photo’s from the show here:
