Get down for breast cancer: Boob Fest at The Get Down

In other, charity-concerned Moogfest satellite-event news, The Get Down, a still-new bar at 1045 Haywood Road, will host Boob Fest, a benefit for, well, breasts — specifically breast cancer.

“ROCK OUT FOR BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBS!!!!!!!!!” implores the event’s Facebook page. “We are going to rock out so hard, because we love our precious mammaries and we hate cancer! Moog is great and all, but this is your chance to come see local bands, look cool and help some peeps who have breast-cancer related needs.”

Proceeds go to Ladies Night Out, a program of Mission Healthcare Foundation that includes “free screenings, blood work, transportation, etc. for the uninsured.”

The performers are listed as follows:

Thee Loud Crowd
Studz
Rubber Cushions
Zombie Queen
Johnny Sexx
Tom Stanford and the Mystical Asstronauts

Boob Fest happens this Friday, Oct. 29, starting at 6 p.m.
