“Garage 34 is more than a store. It is a new way of thinking,” says the website for the recently-opened boutique. Located at 34 S. Lexington Ave. (just past French Broad Chocolate Lounge), the store has the feeling of a mini-Screen Door: Lots of cool stuff just waiting to be discovered. Unlike Screen Door, Garage 34 has less decor, more wearable art — including lots of clothing and handmade toys for kids. Artists include Twiggy, Yarnies, Dom Unique and many more. Open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m.

Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
Garage 34 is fantastic. It is a way to support our local artists and economy, and at the same time find amazing, creative, and very affordable items for gifts or to add to your own collection of goodness!
One of my favorites. Like a year-round Big Crafty.
