File under great local bands you might not have heard of yet. Or bands that know how to use a whistle. Or bands whose parents rock out at their shows (“Look, my mom is here! That’s cool,” singer/keyboardist Justin Bowles shouted at one point): Asheville indie-rock trio Grammer School is one to watch.
And watch them you can, in this nine-minute video shot during the WNC Magazine-sponsored Last Band Standing finals, held at The Orange Peel last week. Grammer School competed against bluegrass act Sanctum Sully, folk rockers The Scenic Roots and winning band (grand prize was the opening slot at this year’s Bele Chere festival) Big House Radio.
Grammer School next plays Good Stuff Grocery on Saturday, July 10 at 9 p.m.

The key board player is my youngest son and I am very proud of him. He has always been very music talented and will go far I am sure. Thanks for everyone’s kindness and support of these 3 great musicians.
