Asheville’s got a couple of big comedy events on the books this week.
Tonight, at the Magnetic Field, check out world-famous comedians and master craftsmen Joe Zimmerman and Greg Brown, along with the Asheville Disclaimer yuckmeisters Cary Goff and Tom Scheve, along with Pat Hinson and host Art Strurtevant. We are sure they are great, because Tom told us so, and he knows what things are funny.
The hilarity commences at 8 p.m. and will set you back a mere $7. The show is at the Magnetic Field in the River Arts District.
After tonight, you may be wondering where else you can laugh until you snort and people look at you with sidelong glances, slightly embarrassed for you. Fortunately, you can keep chortling the rest of the week, starting on Thursday. That’s when The Feral Chihuahuas present an evening-long show called “KEYWORDS.” It’s bill as a “multimedia sketch comedy event to tickle the senses. Get the summer started the right way … by making fun of it.”
That show runs Thursday, June 9 through Saturday, June 11. Shows are at 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 7 and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the BeBe Theater, 20 Commerce St. in downtown Asheville. Tickets are $10 online or $13 at the door.
Why do they do it? “We are driven forward by the painful and hilarious whips of the comedy gods,” the Chihuahuas say. How do they do it? “Hard work is also funny,” the Chihuahuas claim.
Not to forget PRIME RIBBING that is also playing this weekend and also very funny!
Oi! Did we go to your review and plug our show?
