LYLAS is back. The local all-female sketch comedy troupe, known for skits satirizing City Council members, reality TV shows and Segway tours, has been off the radar for a little while. According to a press release, LYLAS is set to open an all-new show on Asheville Community Theatre‘s black box stage, 35below.
“Turning Over a New LYLAS features short sketches, videos, and at least one pool-optional synchronized swimming routine,” says press for the show. “LYLAS (stands for ‘Love Ya Like A Sis’) welcomes three new faces to the group and two alumna back to the stage for this production. Brand new LYLAS members Fay Canale, Tina Ford-Cox and Tab Hall join veteran LYLASers Delina Hensley and Hollis McKeown, while alumna Betsy Puckett and Jenny Bunn are back from ‘retirement’ to do the show.”
Performances run Jan. 16-25, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, at 7:30 p.m. with additional 9:30 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday nights. All tickets are $15.
