Life is funny. And Nick Thune is taking notes.
The Seattle-bred comedian/actor has built a career around pointing out the absurd and hilarious lurking in everyday life (i.e. “Enough is enough; it’s the exact same word”). His deadpan, conversational delivery is accompanied by gentle, lulling guitar — a style reminiscent of comedians like Zach Galifianakis and Mitch Hedberg —and Thune is especially adept at the art of one-liners (“Boy George is the exact opposite of George Straight.”)
Thune has performed on a variety of late-night talk shows including The Tonight Show, Conan and The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, appeared in movies like Extract and Knocked Up and produced two web series for Comedy Central. His debut comedy record, Thick Noon, was included in Amazon’s Best of 2010 Comedy Albums.
But don’t take our word for it, see for yourself:
Nick Thune performs at The Altamont Theatre Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. $15.
