In a city where there are more musicians and bands than stretchy ear-plug-rings and gluten free bakeries combined, one band dares to stand alone and flaunt their obstinate un-coolness. That band is West Asheville’s own RonD (rhymes with Bond) and they are playing tonight (3.23.12) at The Get Down on Haywood Road.
This six piece outfits trademark move is squirm-inducing,self-deprecation with song topics ranging from little leaguers making bovine love to balding middle age rest area rendez vous. RonD songs have elements of indie rock and folk with a heavy concentration on cheesy 80’sand 90’s rock anthems. RonD songs are crafted in a catchy, self-medicated meets public therapy session fashion that tends to provoke sing-a-longs and spontaneous audience blurtings..
Opening for RonD is Justin and The Brave New Gravelys.
Show starts at 830. RonD goes around 10pm.
Planning to be there!
