Local electronic outfit Agobi Project (Nick Wankel on drums, synths, samples, Ableton and electronic production; Andrew Kirk on guitar) creates (according to its Facebook bio) a “delicately balanced mix of high energy live drums, state of the art laptop production and seasoned guitar wizardry.” The group was originally a trio until producer David Krantz left to pursue his solo project, Futexture. But that hasn’t slowed Wankel and Kirk, who promise “unique collaborations” this year, along with a forthcoming EP.
They perform Friday, June 15 at One Stop. Nomadicband, a self-described “melting pot of blues, funk, rock and electronic,” opens. 10 p.m., $5. Win a pair of tickets to the show tomorrow in the 11 a.m. hour on Facebook.
