Percussionist Jeff Sipe has traveled everywhere (starting with being born in Berlin) and played with everyone (starting with attending Berklee with the likes of Branford Marsalis and Jeff Watts). His own bands include the Aquarium Rescue Unit with Bruce Hampton, Oteil Burbridge and Jimmy Herring; and the Zambiland Orchestra with members of Phish, Widespread Panic and the Derek Trucks Band. Now based in Western N.C., he often sits in with local musicians like The E. Normous Trio and the Jonathan Scales Fourchestra. The Jeff Sipe Trio (with Neal Fountain on bass and Mike Seal on guitar) performs a Thursday, Feb. 9, 10 p.m. show at The One Stop. $10 cover, or win a pair of tickets by following Xpress on Facebook tomorrow at noon.
